3.7 | Navigating Modules

Navigating a Course Module Banner

About Course Navigation

Your instructor may organize your course into Modules. Think of a module as tabs in a binder. Each module will have learning materials and activities in an order that is best for learning.

Accessing and Viewing Modules

Select "Modules" from the Course Navigation on the left. If you do not see "Modules" in the Course Navigation, your instructor may have hidden the module list from student view.

Understanding the Modules Index

You may notice in the modules list that you cannot open some items. Your instructor may have chosen to lock items in one of the following ways:

  • Open at a certain date (video showing locked date)
  • A prerequisite must be completed first to open the content (view video above)
  • Items have to be opened or completed in a certain order (video showing sequential requirements). The requirement is listed in the module item title.
  • The module requirements that you have met are shown by a checkmark.

Selecting an Assignment Path

Your instructor may create a module that requires you to choose an assignment path. In this case, a "Choose Assignment Group" link will open for you to choose from. Once you select an assignment path, you cannot select a different path.
