Electronic Books

The library provides access to several electronic book databases. If linking to a book or chapter in Canvas or if providing links directly to students, use the permalink that can be found in each items' record. If off campus, students will need to log in to their MyVCCCD account to access.

Both databases provide access to hundreds of thousands of electronic books on a wide range of subjects including art, literary criticism, history, the sciences, and more. Books can be read online or can be downloaded in their entirety in PDF format. Book permalinks can be found in the toolbar on the right side.

SpringerLink Links to an external site.
Access more than 21,000 electronic books in full text and more than 500,000 electronic book chapters. Subjects covered include the sciences, social sciences, psychology, health, statistics, and more. Entire books or individual chapters can be downloaded in PDF format or print versions of books can be purchased for $24.99. SpringerLink does not have a permalink option, so the URL in the address bar can be used.

ACLS Humanities eBooks Links to an external site.
A collection of about 5,000 humanities electronic books.  Books can be read online or downloaded in PDF format. Book permalinks can be found towards the bottom of each books' record under "URL."
